What an incredible project, converting an old two-storey unit complex in Cremorne Point into a stunning three-storey luxury residence complete with glass lift, plunge pool and rooftop lawn over the garage.
The goal was to remove the steep roof and add an additional level to capture those breathtaking Sydney Harbour views.
The process was complex, removing every internal brick wall loosened the entire structure due to the 100+ year old lime and mortar cement which did not hold well. To add to this everything had to be removed by hand, no cranes due to the tight access and unit blocks on each side.
Large steel portal frames were designed to be hand welded onsite to sit up on the third floor which would tie the existing external brick walls into place. A time consuming, painstaking process for everyone involved.
It was challenging, but seeing the final outcome was so rewarding! The views from that third level are absolutely amazing, we were thrilled with how it all turned out.
